The Sc-doped gadolinium gallium garnet (GSGG,Gd3Sc2Ga3O12) crystal is a good magneto-optical crystal and the excellent substrate. GSGG is usually grown by the CZ method. GSGG crystal have a higher lattice constant than GGG crystal. GSGG substrate is used as substrates for liquid epitaxy and is dedicated substrates for magneto-optical film, expecially bismuth-substituted iron garnet epitaxial films, such as YIG, BiYIG, GdBIG. It’s good physical and mechanical properties and chemical stability.
